Equipement

Equipement doesn't do it all but it helps achieving the expected results !

Since day one I have used so many different cameras and lenses... I have also tried different brands and have my favorites for any kind of photography style !

During the film days I have mainly used a Canon AE1, Nikon AF2 and some Minolta cameras, but at the beginning of the digital Era I had a long journey with the Canon EOS system which lasted until I jumped into the mirrorless World in 2016 !

Today the competition between all manufacturers gives us a big choice between various systems and the lens manufacturers are also getting better and better.

Some third party brands considererd as cheap options in the past are becoming leaders and producing very high quality glass... Even some newcomers are producing amazing equipement.

Lens selection is the main factor making me choose a system, because I prefer having the best possible glass on an average camera than the opposite !

As I said, all brands have amazing cameras and lenses but some of them are definitely too expensive and some others simply doesn't provide the kind of glass I love !

Having used a lot of Canon L lenses and some Zeiss in the past, my expectations are very high, so it was important to me to find the camera brand having the best selection of lenses !

Size, weight, AF and dynamic range are also very important to me, that's why since I jumped into the Sony alpha system in 2016, I never found a better solution since then, even if I loved the Fujifilm X system which unfortunately is only APSC !

In the lenses departement, I found what I wanted with Sigma and their amazing Art line which are very high quality, have the rendering I want and are way cheaper than first party brands for the same quality.

Sony G and GM lenses are usually used with the Sony A1 MkII when I need speed !

This is the equipement I own today:

For video I mainly use my DJI Action 6 and 4 Pro, Osmo Pocket 3, DJI Mini 4 Pro and my iPhone 15 Pro Max because they are lightweight and compact, easy to carry around for vlogging and POV style shooting. But for serious work my alpha cameras can do the job too !

The new Hasselblad X2D MkII with XCD 35-100mm f/2.8-4 E lens are on order !

I'm giving the Nikon Z8 a go with only two native lenses and the Megadap ETZ21 Pro+ adapter for now, which works stunnigly good !
